  • What is Intraday Futures Data?

Intraday Futures Data is a reporting of each individual price flucuation for a specific contract. It will show trades that occured through the trading day. For this reason, Intraday Futures files are often useful for those wanting to backtest a trading system.

Each price flucuation is called a tick. There may be 1 tick per minute or 100 ticks in a minute. An active market will have more ticks than a less active market.
